Intake Manifold
![]() |
An intake manifold is the mechanism that channels the air and fuel mixture from the throttle body to the valve ports.
Visteon's Intake Manifolds are developed with a system engineering focus and extensive analytical tools to manage performance for power, acoustics, emissions, and fuel economy. These performance objectives are designed with consideration for engine compartment packaging, assembly and service constraints while delivered within acceptable economics. In addition, Visteon is capable of supplying manifolds constructed from a variety of material options chosen to balance customer requirements, product mass and integration opportunities.
The breadth of Visteon's design solutions range from individual components to fully assembled, fully tested 'plug-n-play' modules that integrate other subsystems such as: air induction, throttle control, fuel charging and various electrical components.
Benefits
- Provides for functional optimization and product development efficiencies because it is designed with a systems approach.
- Delivers fuel economy and emissions improvements through management of the air charge motion.
- Allows end of vehicle life recycling into new vehicle components reducing waste flow into landfills.
- Minimizes the number of design iterations reducing the number of prototypes and improving speed to market through Visteon's extensive analytical development, testing and validation capabilities.
