Air Induction System

An air induction system delivers clean air to the throttle body, while providing engine sound tuning with minimal power loss.

Visteon's family of Air Induction Systems includes all of the components required to transfer, condition and measure air from outside the vehicle to the throttle body. The system consists of the following elements: ambient and clean air ducts, air cleaner housing and a filter element. Variations may also incorporate sound tuners, a hydrocarbon trap or Visteon's Long Life Filtration System, which contains a zero-maintenance engine air filter. By taking a systems-level engineering approach and using proprietary development tools, Visteon provides innovative systems that meet functional targets for acoustics, power, emissions, and serviceability – while complying with cost, packaging and styling.

• Reduces end-item complexity up to 60 percent, offering cost savings to the vehicle manufacturer by utilizing a coordinated approach to engine air management which allows for the integration of the air induction system across multiple platforms and powertrains.
• Enables powertrain sound tuning to specific vehicle sound signatures through proprietary analysis methods that analytically forecast acoustic performance early in system development.
• Reduces waste flow into landfills because the system is manufactured from 25 to 30 percent Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) resins for plastic components–excluding adsorbing material.
